The EVSS® Operations interface is where all vehicle monitoring takes place. The browser window maximizes the map view while the EVSS® operations console floats over the map in the lower corner.

From the operatons console you have access to the vehicles assigned to you through your group membership. The vehicle alerts are displayed in the left hand console pane. All of the EVSS® console functions are located on the button row at the right.

These functions include locate vehicle, track vehicle, vehicle video, vehicle detail information and a button for a secondary map view for dual monitors.

Vehicle location and tracking is a simple matter of the selecting the vehicle from the vehicle list and clicking either the locate button or track button. When locate is clicked the map is centered on the vehicle. Tracking centers the map on the vehicle at all times and changes the vehicle icon. While tracking a track line is also rendered on the map so you know the path history of the vehicle while in motion.

To view live on board video fromthe vehicle select the vehicle from the list by clicking on it and click the camera icon button. A video window will open showing the camera feeds from the vehicle. The initial images are in a small grid to accomodate the maximum nuber of cameras installed in the vehicle. To get a larger view and control the camera (if equipped with PTZ) click on the video image.

Each vehicle has the EVSS® Mobile Client touch screen interface that is capable of displaying text messages sent from the EVSS® operations console. Select a vehicle from the list, type in a text message and click send. The message will appear on the drivers console. For safety reasons the operations user can also remotely clear the driver console of any messages as well.

The operations console can open a second map view in a second monitor. This allows a general high level view of vehicle positions while the primary map view can be used for vehicle location and tracking.
