EVSS Mobile Client

The EVSS Mobile Client is the application that the vehicle operator interacts with. Using a touch screen the EMC provides all the functionality that the driver needs without being intrusive.

EMC is a virtual multi-function interface display. This means that unlike pure hardware solutions, the application is fully scalable and can be easily upgraded with more advanced features. A pure hardware application is severly limited when it comes to adding features that are beyond its interface capabilities. This approach is similar to advanced aircraft technology know as a glass cockpit.

Basic Features

EMC has its primary function commands located on the horizontal button row. Above each virtual button is a box describing the function. When a function is selected the box is displayed in red. The button on the end labeled "More..." provides for all future additions. As new features are added to the EVSS® Mobile Client, pressing this button will rotate the command selections to accomodate all the features.

Similar to the command buttons along the bottom the vertical buttons provide input responses for the selected command. Again the same priciple of the "More..." button applies when more responses are available than can appear on the screen.

Using this virtual approach means that EVSS® can be easily upgraded with new features and capabilities without having to upgrade the hardware.

Duty Status

The Duty Status option provides capability to let operators in dispatch know the vehicle condition. This information is displayed in the EVSS® Operations vehicle list and updated as a vehicles duty status changes. The duty status list is easily defined in the administration web application. This flexibility allows each customer to tailor the system to their needs.

Text Messaging

EMC Message Screen

When started the EVSS® Mobile Client opens with the message screen. This screen displays the initial startup data which indicates the system is ready and operational. The "Clear Message" button clears the console text. The vehicle can recieve and display incoming text messages, such as route information or accident warnings from dispath on this screen.
