| Fixed Surveillance Cameras |
|
Deploying and managing surveillance cameras on a small or large scale can be a daunting task. CMSS® removes the complexity of
configuring, managing and monitoring camera deployments by using a camera profile and mapped deployment approach.
|
| Camera Configuration and Management |
Cameras are easily assigned to their physical location using a map and reverse geo-coding (physical address) to locate the camera position on a map. Multiple
cameras are then assigned to the location. Each camera assigned to a location is configured with the basic information needed to connect and
manage the camera.
Using a map view it is easy to see the camera deployment and locate, view or edit any camera cluster at the designated location. |
| Video Carousel |
The CMSS® Video Carousel is a grid based view of the cameras in the system. Camera feeds are presented in a grid layout that is configurable from
one video feed up to a ten by ten matrix displaying one hundred cameras in the view (High bandwidth networks). The display cycle time can be set by the
user to create a continuous carousel of camera feeds. At any time the carousel can be paused and has forward and reverse view buttons to manually move
through the camera set.
Multiple monitors can be used to display and view the camera feeds using the CMSS® Video Carousel Split feature. Each carousel window can be spawned off
splitting the view into another carousel window. As an example, carousel one contains 100 cameras in the camera set. When split we now have two windows of
50 cameras each. The original set of 100 cameras has been divided into two sets of 50 cameras. You can continue to split the each carousel window to
sub-divide the set.
|
| Camera and User Groups |
A large camera deployment of hundreds of cameras can present a difficult challenge to anyone tasked with monitoring the video feeds. To reduce the
load, cameras and system users can be assigned to groups so only a limited number of cameras are visible to a user when they log into the system.
There is no limit to the number of camera groups or user groups managed by CMSS®. Cameras and users can also be members of multiple groups and
CMSS® will work out the associations meaning that smaller groups can be built into larger group memberships.
|
| Network DVR Camera Recording |
Any deployed camera can be setup for network video recording to the CMSS® DVR server. In the camera configuration simply select the DVR server
and set the retention for continuous recording. Optional recording via a scheduled time can also be setup (see scheduling below).
|
| DVR Scheduling |
CMSS® provides a scheduled recording option to configure cameras to record on certain days and hours. The scheduling feature also
takes into account time zones for globally deployed surveillance cameras. When a camera or camera group in another time zone is setup
to record at certain hours the administrator does not have to adjust the time for local DVR servers in that region when the recording
schedule is submitted.
